Artwork title: Calming Blues

The artist: Brielle

In this painting I see a woman with light blue hair with dark blue darker strands to emphasize the curl of her hair. I see a diamond on her forehead with white geometric lines on her face. The place of the scene is undefined because the woman is taking up the whole canvas. The wavy lines of the woman's hair is used to show that the hair has volume and that it is wavy. My eye moves around the curly lines of the hair. When I look at this piece of artwork, I think of an icy environment because the whole painting is covered in a light blue which reminds me of a cool mist. I think the most important part of the painting is the diamond on the woman's head because it looks like it is shining and it draws the viewer's eye to it. I like this artwork because it feels light from the use of lighter colors, and I also like that the woman is the only figure in the painting. I really like her hair because it looks so light and full, and it takes up all of the canvas.

Title of Artwork: Kaboom Island

The artist: Emma Anderson

In Emma's painting I see a variety of different colors being used, such as reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, purples, and pinks. I see mountains, palm trees, a waterfall, bridge, and a colorful sunset. This looks like a tropical paradise. I like how she uses so much color and different shades. It gives the painting a joyful mood. I can tell that this is a painting of a dream. I see the use of arches and uneven lines to make mountains, trees and the rings of light around the sun. This gives the painting a light and free feeling. I like how the painting looks realistic, but it also looks dreamlike.
